I was lucky to have an amazing recruiter from the very beginning. Tristyn is fantastic, and has always been there for me, no matter the time or day. When he was busy, or has a vacation, I am able to reach out to his assistant. Used to be Hunter, who was by far one of the most wonderful people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with- but due to his awesomeness, he was promoted! Anyone that ends up with Tristyn or Hunter will be in good hands. They go above and beyond, no matter the reason! Some of the compliance team, however, need to get some better training. I’ve actually had start dates pushed back because compliance dropped the ball. As for pay, I’ve only had one issue- and afterward realized it was me that hadn’t read something properly. Def read through the initial email you receive from payroll a few times because the important stuff is not highlighted or bolder. It’s just mixed in the middle of a paragraph and quite easy to miss. Insurance is good, not too expensive (in the grand scheme of things they’re all too expensive but I digress….). Don’t bother negotiating though- they won’t change things. Working three 12hr shifts? Too bad, OT starts at 40. Work in a speciality and want to actually stay there? Too bad, you’re not getting ‘no floating’ in your contract. Just little things- but all in all, they’re not bad and I’ve been with them going on 2 years now.

I had problems with my first recruiter because she wouldn’t let me know about anything that was going on. I would ask her about where my application was in the process and no response. I switched to another recruiter and have been with her for 1.5 years. She is super helpful and I have had no problems or issues with her. I have never had a problem with getting paid. The pay isn’t the most competitive I will admit.

Morgan is my recruiter and she is amazing. She is always checking in, making sure I’m doing ok and helping me with my next steps. My travel specialist, megan is also super helpful and sweet. As for the pay roll and the credentialing specialist. They could be hard to get up with and ask things of you last minute. Good thing they change with ever contract…

The recruiter I have through Aya is great. She’s been a nursing recruiter for multiple agencies over the past 10 years and has been with Aya for 4 years. She responds to texts within an hour and checked in with me during my contract every week or two. I felt like she was honest with me about contracts and was willing to try to get me more money. She matched a higher-paying contract through the same agency when I went to extend and received pushback about a pay increase. My paychecks have always been on time and correct. My compliance guy was a little hard to get ahold of, but he got everything done on time and was nice. Ive heard horror stories about this agency, but I think it depends on who you get. I have Pari Constan, if anyone needs a solid recruiter! :)

This is the Google review that got their attention: I started with a 4 week crisis contract with Aya in Feb 2022. At the end of the contract, it was extended but canceled at the last minute. I had an airbnb for the extended contract in place for myself and travel partner. So, renegotiation were started and backup date of 5/4 was given. During Renegotiation my staffing agent went on vacation. I was told I'd hear from Taylor and Danny while she was away. Never heard from Taylor despite multiple calls/emails over 6 days. Danny just called to make sure he knew what was going on and if I heard anything new. So I kept the airbnb thinking I'd be joining my cousin soon. I was not instructed by Aya to cancel the airbnb. Now, Aya is refusing housing reimbursement because i dont have a contract. They knew i didnt have a contract while I had housing waiting on this renewal. This mistake is costing me $800+. I also had to fight for reimbursements for scrubs, 27 hours of modules and iv certification. All of these were mandatory for the assignment. There has been a ton of miscommunication and staffing shortages with Aya that i think contributed to my problem. They have housing specialists but I didn't hear from them regarding this matter. Kristen the travel experience manager won't return calls or emails either. Extraordinary how many communication attempt have gone unanswered but I was suppose to know to cancel the airbnb because of an Aya policy? Since then, the matter has been resolved but it certainly took some diligence on my part. I wonder how many Aya travelers have been stiffed on pay/reimbursements/other costs associated with this kind of work because resolution was so difficult. It's worth noting that I'm currently on assignment with Aya. The assignment was delayed 2 weeks because Compliance department didn't catch the wrong drug screen panel had been run. I suggested recollection immediately because the specimen was 3 weeks old at that point and likely discarded by the lab. I was told protocol had to be followed. The lab would be contacted for retesting the same sample. Needless to say, I'm not impressed with a company that has departments that don't know about specifics pertinent to their "specialty". Compliance should have know about specimen processing and lab review immediately...not 3 weeks later/48 hours before assignment start date. Just ignorant and neglectful. Needless to say, I've given the company fair chance to show/not say what they're about. I've learned that wages are paid on time...the rest, see above. This will be my last assignment with Aya.

Best agency around!! They handle every issue and concern and are always fair. My recruiters Christiana and Marlie are amazing. Very thankful for them and how they hustle for me. Benefits and 401k is amazing too.

I needed to end my contract a couple weeks early to begin a new job (non bedside so not a travel contract) and at first my recruiter said everything was fine and to let my manager know. A few hours later I get a threatening email from Aya saying that if I don’t complete my contract they will cut my pay and the pay cut will be retroactive to my start date (on a 20 week assignment I was only ending 2 weeks early) and that I would essentially owe them anything they “overpaid” me. Not to mention I was already making 2,000 less a week than other travel nurses on my unit working the same contracted hours as me.

Recruiters will make or break your experience with an agency! I’ve been traveling for just over 3 years and have never had an issue with AYA. It’s a bit of a headache having to speak to 3-4 different representatives, but anytime I’ve had an issue getting in touch my recruiter has been very helpful and responsive. Natalie Larson for the win!

Well, it all started well. BUT they entered my info incorrectly and someone else got my W2’s (even though I TRIED to get them to update my info months prior). So someone else got a copy of my SS#. THEN…My recruiter contacted me MID CONTRACT to tell me the hospital wanted me to re sign a new contract for MUCH lower pay, “normalization of rates” they called it. However, the hospital says they did NOT and we kinda think it’s the agency screwing me and trying to pocket the difference. Especially since NONE of the other travelers are being asked to do this (even the ones with the same company that started at the same time). I have refused to sign this new contract and Aya tells me I have to put my 2 weeks in. Some shady crap right here. This hospital is HURTING and cannot afford to lose me! So sad. Forget peoples lives….bottom dollar. I do NOT recommend Aya.

Hate your agency or recruiter? Change recruiters! I had such a terrible experience the first go round and it was because of the recruiter! I got a new recruiter who is great! She responds in a timely manner, professional, and targets what I want out of a contract.! It’s kind of hit or miss with recruiters but I learned to change recruiters and to always communicate w/ other agencies!

My pay and stipend was screwed up every week, kept getting told it was passed that weeks deadline and would have to wait until the following week. Will never use this company again.

Used Aya during my first assignment . Took a while to get assigned. My assignment itself was great! However , as soon as I started I have never heard from my recruiter again, I would reach out multiple times with no response. Even when rates increased out here , I contacted my recruiter asking for a match in rate , NEVER got a response. I’ve learned so much from other travelers my recruiter never mentioned uniform reimbursement nor travel reimbursement. I for sure got stuck with a terrible recruiter, but comparing prices w/ Aya versus other agencies , Aya is lower paying . Already working with a different Agency and never again will work with Aya.

My paychecks were never on time. My recruiter is the absolute worst, I asked to switched several times and the manager kept telling me “oh she’s great, just give her another chance.” Like she hasn’t send me any jobs, or even reached out after my assignment ended. I most definitely am switching agencies.

One of the worst travel experiences I have had. This was my first travel assignment and they took full advantage of my lack of knowledge. Upon arrival to my assignment I found that I made approximately $1000 less per week than any of the other travelers, independent of travel experience. While on assignment I noticed a matter that I knew would be an issue and informed my recruiter of the potential for this becoming an issue, potentially ending my contract early, depending on outcome. At first she was in agreement with my view of the situation and "totally backed me on any decision I made", however when the time came and the matter became an issue, that did end my contract early, she completely turned on me. She got aggressive, spoke to me in a very unprofessional manner and basically left me out in the cold, unsupported. She then got an attitude and asked me why I wasn't traveling with her again. To add insult to injury, I was shorted on my last paycheck and will never see that money. Thankfully it was not a large amount of money or else I would have fought for it.

When I first started traveling with Aya a year and a half ago, I was being paid a lot less than all the other nurses on my floor. When I asked my recruiter about this and got other peoples contracts I was rudely approached so I reached out to a different recruiter that an agency nurse had with aya, once again my recruiter jumped down my throat saying her manager would be reaching out to be. I pushed this to the side as I had all of my information with this company already. Our relationship did end up getting better, she was very upset with me when I chose to take a break from the company to do a internal contract. When I attempted to go back I submitted for a job, then they sent my information to a hospital further away which was a small rural hospital that would require me to work their er often when I turned it down my recruiter told me "you really need to take break and decide what you even want" I am a medical oncology/Medical telemetry nurse, NOT ER.

I was with Aya for less than 3mo. I had to end my contract early due to how awful the hospital was. I tried to contact my recruiter in regards to fearing for my license due to the hospitals negligence. I was not supported and my recruiter was hard to get a hold of. My pay was so low. This was my first assignment and first time with a company. I had heard amazing things about Aya and I know it was the recruiter and not Aya itself. But it has been the hardest time and hurtful as well due to the lack of support.

So many issues. Onboarding sent my ss# to someone else with my same name 😡 Rates have really tanked. Recruiters are really greedy. Seems like there aren’t that many contracts anymore. They only care about $$. They might have been a good company but not anymore.

I only used this agency one time and vowed to never go back. The hospital was offering to pay for Ubers, taxis, etc. for healthcare workers to get to the hospital because a lot of roads were impassable and obviously the patients still need care. I spent well over $500 on transportation over the course of 3 days. The hospital sent the money to Aya and showed proof of that. Aya did NOT give me a dime of that money.

I can’t say enough good things about Aya. I was very pleased with my experiences with them over the years, and they are the only agency I would look to use if I ever decided to travel again. Holly Hendricks is an incredible recruiter who genuinely cares about every nurse with whom she has contact, and I cannot recommend her highly enough!
